How do we support the music teaching workforce?

Changing the face of music teaching — we're guests on the 'Music for Education & Wellbeing' podcast

What really matters to music educators and how can we address the barriers facing our music teaching workforce?

Our Head of Teacher Training — Katrina Damigos joined music education writer and podcaster Anita Holford to discuss the ways we're transforming the music teaching experience through programmes like our one-year Musicians of Change PGCEi.

Katrina and Anita talked about the many issues facing music teachers, including feelings of isolation and a lack of connection to a wider community, as well as teachers feeling overwhelmed and under-qualified for whole-class teaching, due to a lack of specialist training.

Crucially, Katrina delved into how Music Masters addresses the need for music teachers to up-skill, find new confidence in whole class teaching, have their wellbeing properly supported and connect them to a broader community of music teachers.
