Rachel Watson

Rachel is a cellist and educator from Aberdeen who studied at Oxford and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She teaches cello and musicianship while serving as an academic mentor for Music Masters' pioneering instrumental teacher training programme. In 2017, she established the Scordatura Collective, a chamber ensemble championing music by women and composers of marginalised genders. Rachel joined Music Masters in 2019 as part of their inaugural PGCEi cohort. She is currently pursuing doctoral research at King's College London examining the careers of women orchestral musicians in late nineteenth-century London.
