Ambassador
Karim Kamar

London born contemporary-classical pianist and composer Karim Kamar has amassed more than a million followers across social media and over 10 million ‘likes’ on Tik Tok, with his mesmerising compositions and arrangements. As a child Karim took piano lessons but lost interest and developed his passion in music with MCing, DJing and making Garage music and only returning to the ivories five years after completing a degree.
He set himself the challenge of learning to play all the pieces in a book called 50 Greats for the Piano, which includes pieces by Bach, Mozart and Haydn. He bought a digital piano and began honing his skills, playing eight hours a day. Inspiring the non-conventional classical audience, Karim started teaching piano to kids and slowly built his YouTube profile.
Supporting younger people entering the music scene is a key part of Karim’s life, as it’s something he felt he personally lacked. Karim takes such care with his young followers who are constantly inspired by his dedication to craft and learning, which is only matched by his willingness to help everyone else around him.
Karim is a long-time supporter of Music Masters, taking a leading role in our annual ‘Busking’ performance project and bring Music Masters students fresh opportunities to perform outside of the classroom, including at the National Gallery’s Myra Hess Festival.
