Gillian Mott

Gillian Mott was a dedicated music educator at Music Masters who passed away in August 2022 following a cancer diagnosis in July. During her four years with the organisation, she developed a young composers initiative celebrating student creativity, led the "Friday Live!" livestream series during 2020 lockdowns, created educational YouTube content, and taught through the Pathways programme for underrepresented students. She was shortlisted for the Francesca Hanley Inspiration Award (2022). Beyond Music Masters, Gill worked as a foster carer and performer with organisations including Street Orchestra Live and the National Youth Orchestra.
